Beth Farr, MSW, LSW

Beth earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  With a specialization in School Social Work, she has spent over 30 years engaged in supporting children ages 4 through 13 with the goal of enhancing social and emotional growth.  She is skilled in working with children diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Delays, as well as those experiencing anger management, low self-esteem, or emotional dysregulation.

Beth believes that no matter what the challenge, together, we can build on the strengths of each individual.  She believes the foundation of change is anchored on a strong, positive relationship, and bases her approach on the unique needs of each child. Beth’s path to enhancing social skill development and life-long coping strategies is to help the child learn through the utilization of fun, engaging activities.  Approaches include play-based therapy, bibliotherapy, the use of therapeutic games and activities, art activities, as well as exploring thought patterns through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  She incorporates a strengths-based model, building on the positive attributes of each child.

Beth’s strong background makes her an asset in helping parents navigate the educational environment, a big part of a child’s day. She welcomes parents or guardians to become a partner in the process, ensuring growth is achieved across both the therapy and home setting.
