Jennie Segilia, MSW, PEL

Jennie earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2003 with a specialization in School Social Work. She has significant experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 18 in both home-based and school settings. For the past 9 years, Jennie has been providing school-based counseling, offering support and counseling services within the educational setting to help children with their emotional and behavioral needs. Jennie has a wide range of expertise in working with children with specific conditions, such as Autism, ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorders, and Depression. She is well-versed in understanding and addressing the unique challenges these children may face.

Jennie adopts a strength-based approach, focusing on identifying and harnessing an individual's strengths while addressing their challenges. Using research-based interventions, Jennie helps support individuals with strategies and skills to strengthen self-regulation skills, interpersonal skills, as well as self-advocacy and problem-solving skills. 

Jennie works closely with families and schools in order to collaborate and support their child’s individual needs. It is her goal to empower children to positively engage and participate in life and reach their full potential!
